Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

No Adjudication of guilt or innocence

I went before a county judge for a misdomenor 17 years ago and the final verdict was, no adjudication of guilt or innocence.

What does this mean and does it show up on my criminal history?

I have been putting NO on applications under the arrests part because I thought it was gone. Does it show up? What do I do?

Re: No Adjudication of guilt or innocence

It sounds like you were put on deferred probation. If so, you do not have a final conviction on your record if you were successful in completing probation. However, the arrest is still on your record. It may be possible to remove this arrest from your record by expunction or non-disclosure. Right now, if an application asks if you have ever been arrested then the answer is yes. If the application asks if you have been convicted of a crime, the answer is no. I hope this has been helpful in answering your questions.
