Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I need help with age of consent. Boy 19 and girl 15. Boy did not know girl was 15, she gave the age of 16. Boy has proof of text messages that she gave consent and was fully and knowingly involved. Police are asking to see the messages and assure me that nothing further will happen. What should I do?

Hire a lawyer. Lack of knowledge is not a defense. I know it seems unfair, but it is the law. It will really depend on the prosecutor and the jurisdiction.
