Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Aggravated assault

It has been about 13 years since our son was falsely accused of sexual aggravated assault.Due to lack of money he was forced to admit guilt per attorney legal advise. He was given 5 years probation and hrs of community service. He has completed every thing that was ordered by the judge and has never been in trouble with the law. He resides in the State Of Il and was mailed a letter from the State of Il,that he has satisfied and completed every thing and has no longer need to register as a sex offender. He came to visit us in the State of Texas for a couple of days and the person that lied obout his offense stil lives in Baytown, found out that he was in town and she posted all over our neighborhood flyer's regarding his history. My question is, is there anything we can say or do to that person. How can anyone do this (Legally) to someone that had nothing to do with what ever happen 13 years ago.

Re: Aggravated assault

This is an issue of ones constitutional first amendment right to free speech.

You should contact your police department and find out if there are any city ordinances against posting fliers around.

Sincerely,
