Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
aggravated assault...charges filed by mother?
my girlfried isnt but her mom is supposedly pressing charges on me for aggravated assault.
weve made up since then...i thought and ive seeked help since then. we arent together and have both moved on with our lives.
ive called and followed up with a bondsman to see if charges were filed and if i had a warrant. nothing...
just recently i ran into a snag while doing a background check so i called a ''BM'' again and she let me know that on christmas eve a warrant was issued, i was indicted on the 19 of dec. a month and 9 days after the incident. im aware of the limitations being 2 years.
shes telling my friends that its her mom doing it because the incident happend in her car and something supposedly gotten broken.
what can she say?
what can i do?
if its suffering the consequences then her and i both feel as if ive lost enough in my wrongdoing. just because i didnt sit in a cell doesnt mean that i didnt suffer enough from losing a great career and also a girl that i did sumwhere down tha line i did care about strongly.
i locked myself up, mentally, focusing on where i could improve myself. as far as materials go then im willing to work and pay off that debt like a man.
shed some light what r my rights

Re: aggravated assault...charges filed by mother?
Bluntly, your first right is to stop discussing this situation, immediately, with anyone, including the internet. There is an outstanding warrant, and you could get picked up at any time. Hire a lawyer today. Discuss the matter with the lawyer, and no one else. You need to make arrangements to pay the bondsman and the attorney's retainer.
