Aggravated Robbery

My son (24) was arrested for armed robbery, he has nothing on his record except past speeding records that had turned into warrants, but those are all taken care of. How many years might he be looking at? Would it be prison or jail time?

The charge of aggravated robbery is a first degree felony in Texas and has a punishment range anywhere from five to ninety nine years and up to a ten thousand dollars fine.
