Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Aggregate Theft/Theft by Check

My name is on my husbands corporation. We are both being charged with 1stDegreeFelonies. He mishandled the construction costs and signed affidavits saying all bills were paid at the closings of 6 homes. After putting all of our money from 401K's and funds from sell of personal home, he still did not have enough to pay. He handled alll the money, I did not but homeowners are saying I'm guilty too since I am his spouse. He bid all the jobs and dealt with the banks and made the draws. I did not. I trusted him to take care of the financial part and he threatened me physically and emotionally if I questioned his ability to handle the business. He was the builder and money man. Now I have been charged too. What can I do to absolve myself from this horrible situation? My husband has threatend to harm himself if I leave him and I'm afraid that he will. Is restitution an option for him? Is there any way to get the charges dismissed for me?

Re: Aggregate Theft/Theft by Check

Get an attorney now, or apply for a court appointed attorney! You must look after yourself first now. Your legal position is opposite to that of your husband's. Do not follow or depend on any legal advice that your husband may get with regard to his own charges.
