alleged sexual assult
a case of alleged sexual assult of a child (we believe to be a teen and consenual)was sent to the d.a. for review and rejected )sent back to the investigating officer. What would be the next step in the sequence if events and is this a good thing?

Not sure what you mean when you ask if it is a good thing.
If you are the victim, it is terrible.
If you are the defendant, you can breathe easier.
In most cases like this there is no additional information for the investigating officer to uncover. If he/she has no more information to offer to the DA, then the case will likely fade away.
