Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Alright, so last weekend I was arrested an went to jail for having marijuana. but as im researching I find that in order to be arrested for marijuana you have to have more than 2 ounces. I had at most 7 grams. I went to the court house to see if i could get my case heard in teen court, but only to learn that i was charged with having 5 ounces of marijuana, which i had no where close to that much. So what i thought was only gonna be a simple class c misdemeanor is now going to be way worse of charges. what do i do?

As long as the marijuana was an usable quantity then you can be charged. Facing $2,000 fine and 6 months in jail. If no record, then probbaly get a deferred probation. A lawyer will be able to determine if the search was legal.
