This is a hearing set by the court for the purpose of checking in, giving the DA and defense attorney an opportunity to discuss the merits of the case and various plea bargain offers, giving the defense attorney an opportunity to review the file, and file motions. The attorneys advise the court if they have a plea, want a trial, or need more time to investigate.
