appeal bonds
can one get an appeal bond if the sentence is equal to or greater than 10 years?

No, it's a simple rule, if you get a sentence of 10 or more years, you get no bond pending appeal. It used to be 15, I understand, from a colleage of mine. Everyone wants to be harsh on crime, so here you go; you get what you vote for.
