This is hard to answer without knowing the facts. Here is the law if you represented that you had a college or higher degree when you did not:
Section 32.52 of the Texas Penal code states that it is an offense if
a person uses or claims to hold a postsecondary degree that the person knows is a fraudulent or substandard degree or is ficticious or has otherwise not been granted to the person or has been revoked and uses or claims to hold that degree in a written or other promotion of a business or with the intent to obtain employment ...
So the short answer is it is against the law to represent that you had a college degree to obtain employment.
This is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $2000 and a jail term of up to 180 days.
The good news is that the statute of limitations is 2 years. So it sounds like you are off the hook.
Of course, if you are arrested for this, youi will need an attorney. Make sure thay look into these issues.
