Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I was arrested and charged with a crime then jailed with the offense date of Dec. 25, 2010. But I am being tried for a crime with the offense date of Dec. 15, 2010. can the courts do that legally?

Depends on the offense and the surrounding circumstances. The law permits that the courts charge that "on or about X date" and as long as it is within the statute of limitations time, then it is sufficient.
It may be that further investigation lead to the conclusion that the date was wrong. If it is a sex offense, then this happens all the time.
Really need more information.
