Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
i was arrested nov 16 for theft of copper wire. I was in the alley collecting scrap metal like I always do on my day off. After my last pick up I went to the gas station in my neighborhood before going to cash in my metal. suddenly while pumping my gas three cop cars pulled up on me with officers pointing there guns at me. they said that a lady called in on me and said that i was stealing an ac unit from a yard. my vehicle was towed which i am still unable to recover , I spent 3 days in jail and I lost my job, due to the days of work I had to miss from being in jail. I am being charged with a felony 1 which I was told at the time of being arrested that it was a class b misdemeanor. what can I do?

I strongly suggest you hire a lawyer to represent you. If they are charging you with a felony, it will be helpful if you get a lawyer before the grand jury returns an indictment against you. The lawyer will be able to review your case and try to put a packet together to submit to the grand jury. Might be able to keep you from being indicted.
