Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
assault with bodily injuries
My boyfriend was arrested for assault on a pregnant woman with bodily injuries while intoxicated. Will he face charges even if I don't press charges? If so, what will the charges be? There are also pending felony charges against him, which he is waiting for his court date.

Re: assault with bodily injuries
Depending upon the circumstances, yes he can be charged even if the original complainant does not want to proceed.
Since he is pending another felony charge, it is unlikely that the prosecutor will be inclined to be lenient.
He needs to hire a lawyer TODAY.
