Assault Charges
My ex-boyfriend beat me up and was taken to jail for assault. What kind of punishment can I expect him to get? Is assault a felony in TX?

It will be a Class A misdemeanor or a felony, depending upon your injuries. The punishment (if convicted) will also depend upon his past criminal record and his legal representation and his ability to convince the court and/or prosecutor of his ability to reform his behavior.
