Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Assault charges
My wife's friend had an altercation with her ex-husband's new wife, so my wife and I broke it up. My wife was holding the ex's wife back, while I made sure her friend didn't try anything. When my wife let the girl go, she slapped my wife. My wife then started hitting the girl back. I broke that fight up as well. Witnesses are saying that I held the girl down while my wife and her friend beat on her. All three of us now have assault charges being pressed against us. What should I do?

Re: Assault charges
You should first not discuss the situation with anyone at all, except the attorney retained by you. Then you need to hire a lawyer immediately. Without counsel, you can expect this to just snowball, and get worse, not better.
