Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
assault/domestic violence charge
My mother is charged with family domestic violence assault. She grabbed my brother's girlfriend by the arm & forced her out of her own home because the girlfriend was verbally abusing her. How can she be charged with this, & why is this girl being considered a family member?

Re: assault/domestic violence charge
An offensive physical touching, not in self-defense, is an assault. The family member aspect is a reach. She needs a lawyer immediately.
