Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Assistance in removing an 18 year old of her own free will to a safer home in an

My best friend a girl in Texas lives in a very dysfunctional emotionaly and at times physically abusive borderline psychotic home. She wants to leave, but as the car legally belongs to her parents and she has no job she hasno means of leaving. She has graduated high school and is 18 years old and not yet enrolled in a college. Is it legal to drive to Texas and pick her up and bring her back to stay with us in our guest bedroom? Or would crossing state lines with her, even of her own free will, be kidnapping if it's against her parents wishes?

No, if she's 18 and not mentally disabled in some way, or incompetent, she is free to leave.

She should definitely leave a detailed note with several people.
