Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Assualt
I have been charged with a
misdeamor assualt. This is my first
violation, have never been in trouble
with the law before. The charges
were dropped by the complaintant,
which was my boyfriend whom I live
with and nothing like this has
happened prior to incident or before.
I went to jail and have a court date
coming up. Do I need an attorny?

Re: Assualt
To obtain the best possible outcome, yes you do. There is no guarantee that the State will not pursue charges against you because your boyfriend does not want you charged anymore. In fact, often the State insists on moving forward on domestic violence charges.
