Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Assult with Bodily injury to a family member

My soon to be ex-wife has charged me with Assuld while she was in the Hospitol hooked up to a bunch of machines with alarms. I never layed a hand on her nor have I ever thought about it. I am in the millitary and that is just wrong. There aren't any marks. What do you think will happen I have court on the 9th of next month but I cant afford to hire an attorney. I have no criminal history. What do you think will happen if they convict me?

That is considered a class A misdemanor carrying a punishment of up to a year in jail and a 4k fine.

If you are convicted, you would likely receive probation depending on your criminal history.

You should be aware that a conviction also would impact your ability to possess firearms.

If you cannot afford to hire an attorney, the court will appoint one for you. It is better to ask all your questions to your attorney.
