Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Back in 2015, I got my husband and I into financial problems and I took out two loans and two credit cards in his name without him knowing about it. In early 2016 I told him about them and we paid them off in April of 2016. Now we are going through a divorce and he is going to file identity theft, forgery and fraud charges against me. I have talked with him about it in depth and he will not budge on his decision. Is there anything I can do? Do I just turn myself in? I can't afford a criminal attorney right now, I do not have a job.

Just because he makes a report to police does not mean the police will actually write a report and even if they do, that does not mean that the DA's office will accept charges. Given that the situation was 2 years ago and he did not complain at the time and waited until there is a divorce happening, my guess is that prosecutorial interest (without other factors which you may not have disclosed) will be very low.

That said, do not talk to law enforcement of any type without a lawyer - period.
