Re: Am I going to go back to jail if I plead not guilty
Generally, anyone who is out on bond, and is pleading not guilty and sets their case for trial, remains on bond until and during the trial. However, on occasion, that person picks up a new case, either becuase the District Attorney holds off filing the new case as a "carrot" in the hopes the defendant will plead guilty to the case all ready charged. Then when the new case is charged the person does not have the money to make the additional bond. On other occasions, while out on bond, the individual committs another offense, in which case the new charge carries a no bond and the person goes into custody. Without knowing more about the facts of your case, I cannot help you more than this. Since you are out on bond, I am sure you have an attorney, and you should ask him or her about the bond question. If you have not hired an attorney to represent you in the burglary case, you need to do that ASAP.
