Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Background Checks

Acouple of years ago I was going through a terrible grieving process having lost my father(Daddies Girl), My 15 year old dog, and my grandmother(My best friend) I was out one morning and went into a store to look around since it was my grandmothers favorite store. I went to smell the perfume she always wears and for not reason I put it in my purse along with the perfume my father always gave me on valentines day, and a few others with sentimental reasons. I never left the store. I went to the bathroom and put the bottles in the trash. someone saw me and the manager called the police and I was arrested. I was there for about 3 hours and my brother picked me up and had called his friend who is a lawyer and a guy in his office he recommened fo rmy case. i was given defereed sentence, 80 hours community service, fines and 3 years probation.

I have met at requirements except that I am in my final year on probation. A couple of things I need answered please.

How long does it take to get this expundged next October?

and from now on its no longer on my record. I am in the medical field and they do background checks. Should I tell this potential employer before its done. What do I say. I am trying to renew my Texas License

Re: Background Checks

Once you have completed all your conditions of probation and show up for your review hearing, the case should be dimissed and expunged from your record. Your arrest will still show up with the OSBI records. It should show that your case was dismissed, however. You should check with the court to see how they handle expungements.
