Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Bad Auto Dealings
I entered into agreement with my girlfriends father to purchase a truck in need of repair. To Pay for the truck I worked for him at a rate of $10/hr until $750 had been accounted for by my hours worked.
I requested the title, and he reluctantly provieded it signed not by him but the previous owner he had bought it from. I then removed the truck from his property.
He has called 4 times and stated that I stole parts that were on the truck or that we had put on the truck while it was at his residence. And he wants them returned or he is going to file a report for theft.
I took nothing that was not on the truck. What recourse do I have if any?

Re: Bad Auto Dealings
Verify that local law enforcement has a record of your dealings, and that your title is clear. You can apply for an injunction to prevent him from contacting you further, or you can ignore him. If you have a clear title and law enforcement is aware of the dispute, they will probably tell the father that he has a civil complaint, not a criminal one.
