Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Bank Error in Your Favor
Something I was pondering, and is purely for my curiousity... let's say a person were to deposit money into their bank account, all cash, and as you walked out the door they handed you the money back while still adding the total to your bank account? Would the person making the deposit be accountable, or would the bank be considered to be simply giving a gift to the said person?

Hello there,
This was not a gift from the bank and they will be able to trace back through their records what went wrong.
You should speak with an attorney and have them contact the bank to give the money back.
Or, the bank will simply take it off your deposit reflecting that a deposit was not made.

Give the money back. The facts you described are possibly a theft.
