Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

How do i?

My b/f has a dismissed charge of aggtvtd. battery on his record from approximately 10 years ago. He had a roommate that he ''kicked out'' and the roommate took some of his belongings. My b/f went to go get his belongs back and the roommate confronted my b/f and my b/f fought his roommate. Because my b/f was trying to retain his own belongings from his roommate that was on his roommate's possession, he was charged with aggravated battery & he had an attorney go with him to his hearing and the charges were dismissed. I've read places on the court's website that the court clerk's office will not make any copies of the file, nor fax or email any documents from the court file. If my b/f lives in NM, how can he obtain a copy of his file. How can he obtain a copy of his file if he does not know his case number? How can he obtain any information at all regarding his case if there is not even any place to do a docket/case search? How can he find out his atty.'s name that represented him. It seems to me that this is going to be a very hard process just to try to Motion to the Crt. to reopen the case to expunge the charge that was dismissed against him off of his record so that it doesn't keep coming up on his background to get a job.

Re: How do i?

He needs to hire an attorney in Texas to do the expungement for him. The attorney will be able to get the information either from the clerk's office in person or get it from other sources such as the Texas Department of Public Safety or publicdata.com. He does not need to reopen the case. He just needs to file a petition for expungment in that county.
