Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I am bieng charged with theft 50, Class B. I have no record, a 4000 dollar lawyer, and I am in college (Nursing School). We have background checks coming up in November 2010. Am I going to be able to Graduate and/or take my state boards? I am 25 and the offense date was before I started Nursing school, but after I turned 18. Help! What are the chances that Mr Prosecutor will drop it to Class C? What are my chances of getting defered adjudication? I'm a good person, but I'm worried now that my court date is creeping up, I just want to graduate and start a career where I can help people, Any Advice?

These are all questions you should be asking your lawyer. Being involved in your case, and aware of all of the factors at issue, your lawyer has the information you need. Even though there are never any guarantees, your lawyer is best able to assess your options.
