What is bifurcation? Also, can you explain what an open plea is?

Bifurcated means that there are two parts of the trial, the guilt phase then the punishment phase. An open plea means the D.A. is not recomending a punishment, the judge will decide, this is normally a bad deal. Be careful, listen to your Attorney.
