Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Bigamy.
I have discovered that my fiancee is married to two women. I have official copies of the marriage certificates. There are no divorce records. What are the legal ramifications of this and how can this be rectified? Thank you for your time.

Re: Bigamy.
Well, it is bigamy and that is illegal in this state. It is corrected by divorce. It can have ramifications as to property as well. Surely he should clear up this problem if you intend to ever marry him. He needs to go ahead and hire a lawyer to clear this up. Were these marriages informal, common-law marriages or were they formal marriages?
