Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
help im being blackmailed, my bro-inlaw is threating to take photos to the police that shows markings that look like abuse of his son but in reality the son was horseplaying and got hurt.the same son told his teachers yesterday that daddy hit mommy and uncle, and that mommy and daddy do drugs. the school called cps and took the 2 kids.now the parents are looking at some serious trouble. bro-inlaw says if i dont make himlook good for his lawyers and courts that he'll use the photos to make me look bad and in an indirect threat he'd kill me. what can i do?
1 Answer from Attorneys
I'd think about two things, hire a local criminal defense lawyer .
Ask the attorney about what to do. I'd think about contacting the police about what your brother in law said. My first thought is that they are likely to think that daddy hit son.
It also sounds like the threats he made are criminal acts.
Should you be prosecuted on the basis of the photos, the fact that you reported the threat to the police would lend credibility to your story
Again, retain and consult a local lawyer familiar with the landscape.
