Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Bond Reduction
My brother has been in jail since 01/14/09 for possession of marijuana 2nd degree felony he has been indicted on 4/7/09 his bond is to high for any of us to pay. It's $60,000, how or can we put in any paperwork to get the bond reduced. We hired an attorney and he said he has put in the paperwork but it has been a really long time. How or can I verify that the lawyer did sumbit the paperwork, and how long does it usually take before we get an answer?

Re: Bond Reduction
Our client was incarcerated 20 days ago and we already got him out on a bond reduction in the 286th district court. All it takes is to prepare the writ and they will set the hearing. Usually takes no more than two weeks.
