Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
what are the bounderies for a police officer?
My husband had left for work 5:00 am and left the door unlocked and my 2 year old son had gone out the door somtime that morning. My 6 year old daughter and i were asleep and then i was awoken with someone banging at the door. I answered it and a police officer was standing at my door telling me he found my son just then the lady who had nearly ran him over comes running in screaming at me and cussing me out in my house the officer just let her come in and cuss me The police officer continued to question me in front of the lady where she added her own comments where ever she saw fit. She still had my son in her arms. She finally hands him over hesitantly and then i was told i would be arrested. Is this procedure the officer took legal?

Anything is posible. I am more concerned about a felony child abandonment charge that may result from this set of facts. I offer a free half hour consult if you are in the Austin/ San Antonio area. 512 392 5010.
