Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Boyfriend was in his truck and a police officer was trying to stop him, he evaded, ran into a pole and was thrown from his truck. The police detained him at the hospital but released him because he had to be transported to another hospital. Is there a statute of limitations for this? He was not given a citation, served no jail time, and was not arraigned. Please advise.

The police officer will file a report and which will be reviewed by the intake division of the local DA's office. The statute of limitations (time to file charges) is 2 years for midemeanors and 5 years for felonies.
