Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I was broken into 3 times in one year. I live in a little town and work from 8 to 5. The first time someone told the cops basically who it was but nothing was every done because the kids uncle is on the city councel. The second time ( which was 4 months later) it was the same MO. This recent time was exactly the same. All three times the cops took the information on what was stolen and that was basical all they did. The cops did not do anything more all three times. The most recent time they did not finger print the door or anything because their fingerprinter was off that day, all they did was take the hammer that I found walking when I was walking outside. The cops did nothing all three times. So my question is, is there anything I can do legally against the PD for not doing their job?

All the police can do is run fingerprints through a database of convicted criminals. If the offender is not in the database there is not much you can do. Suggest you install a video camera and alarm system. If the alarm does not deter the theft, a picture will give the cops more to go on. One possibility is suing the kid and his parents based upon the testimony of "someone." Review this option with an attorney.
