Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My brother is in jail in Meridian Tx. he is charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle. The only thing is that this happened in Hillsboro Tx. which is a different county. He has been in jail for 5 months now and has not been indited yet. they keep telling him that hillsboro want's to pick up his case and get him transfered. But that was 3 months ago and we have not heard anything yet. Can they keep him in jail without being indited? What can we do to speed up the prosess? We just need to know something. Who can i talk to other than his attorney. When i talked to his attorney i was told that all we can do is wait. Is that true?
