Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Busted with weed
Yesterday I was busted with 2 friends
walking to the park to smoke. We
rolled 3 cigarettes with weed in them
and 2 of us were smoking when the
cop pulled up. A bike cop smelled it
and arrested us. We were honest the
whole time and were co-operative
but dies anyone know if it would be
easier/cheaper to hire a lawyer or to
just go alone. Also, how much would
a lawyer cost in Texas?

It depends on the offence, whether you have priors and whether you are truly looking for a way to change your life because of the situation.

Answer: It is never good to represent yourself in court without an attorney. Second, your driving privileges are attached to this case not to mention you are facing a "Class B" misdemeanor of Possession of Marihuana. You face a penalty of zero days to 180 in jail, or a fine of zero dollars up to $2,000.00 or both a fine and jail time, plus you could lose your Texas Drivers license for a period up to one year. My advice would be that you hire an attorney as soon as possible, Kyle Davis is a good attorney in the Bryan/College Station area, and can handle your case. Good Luck.
