Can/Should/Will a Texas trial court vacate a conviction if what I was convicted of wasn't a crime ... even after I served the 15-year sentence?

If it was not a crime at the time you were accused, then they would vacate the conviction if you file a proper application for writ of habeas corpus - even if you have served the sentence as long as you still suffer as a result of the conviction (which is a very low burden - inability to get certain jobs or obtain certain housing meets the criteria.)
