Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My car was stolen by ex boyfriend and his new girlfriend and then found by his neighbor 2 houses from where he lives. But there are no keys. I did report car stolen after I found it but only because #1 I was trying to give ex a chance to do the right thing and #2 was told if I wasn't able to retrieve it that it was still considered stolen. Police refuse to take case.

The DA's office refused to take the case if the police made a report. May be they do not believe you because you delayed in reporting it.
