Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

someone puprposely threw my daughters cell phone down smashing it. Would it do any good to report that to the police? Phone costs about $175

You can try, but the circumstances may not lend itself to criminal charges. They may advise you to sue in small claims court instead.
