Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I am charged with felony possession of Xanax, morphine and methodone and out on bail. I am on Social Security Disability and cant afford a lawyer. The court does not want to appoint a public defender. What should i do?

contact lawyers to see how much they charged. Tell the judge that you can't afford a lawyer and that you have contacted several lawyers but can't afford to pay what they want. Basically, document your inability to hire an attorney.
