Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I am being charged with forgery of a financial instrument. I did not at any time do any such thing. I was buying a vehicle from a woman, who apparently tried to cash a fake check using a printed copy of an ID with my photo and someone elses information on it. She left the store before the check was cashed. She called to let me know she was having trouble with the vehicle she was selling me. I told her to park it at a friends house near by. I sent a message to the friend to let her know I parked it there, I couldnt tell my friend someone else left it there. After reviewing the tapes at the st0re police located the vehicle and my friend told them I had parked it there. Can they actually charge me for the forgery based on stolen identity and a text message?????

You can always be charged with all kinds of things. The question is whether the State can prove what they accuse you of. You need to hire a criminal defense lawyer.
