Hypothetically, as I have no record to review, If you were not driving and the rental car was not in your name, they may be charging you by association or because someone may have said something to them. I also do not know how the search in the trunk occurred, as a trunk is not in plain view.

I would need to be retained, read the police report and view the patrol car video tape, before I could answer further.

Either way, you will need a good lawyer and, if you are not guilty of these charges, there will be a ton of work that will need to be done in order to try to convince the prosecutor of your innocence and get the charges dismissed or win at trial, if they won't dismiss the charges.

Our firm charges an hourly rate and we require an initial retainer to be paid when the fee agreement is signed. We also require the replenishment of that retainer each month, and as the retainer is used up, including the payment of any net bill spent above the retainer. This replenishment of retainer is required each month that we represent you.

Our firm has offices located in Dallas, Texas and Tucson, Arizona.

Please let me know if we can be of assistance. Thank you.
