Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I was charged with theft c/a
My husband was charged also for the same crime.
This is his 1st offense , but it is mt second offense. What is going to happen next

If the amount stolen is under $1500 you will be charged with a misdemeanor. After you are charged you should be given court date. In court if you don't have an attorney, you will be given the option of more time to hire an attorney, applying for a court appointed attorney or representing yourself. You attorney will speak with the DA and obtain a plea bargain offer.
If you do not wish to try the case, you can negotiate a plea bargain with the DA.
