Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I am going to be charged with theft of under $200 here pretty soon. I was just wondering how much trouble i could be in if i just pleaded no contest? I am being accused of taking $140 out of a register.

For most purposes, a plea of "no contest" means the same as a plea of "guilty."
This will be on your record and make it more difficult for you to get a job or rent a residence. It could also affect your ability to obtain many occupational licenses from the state. Talk to your attorney about the consequences of such a plea before you do it.
Of course, often, that could be the best "deal" that you can get.
