Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Hi I was charged with theft 50-500$ in Texas which they told me is a class B misdemeanor. I shoplifted a hoodie and was charged with 73$ theft. The hoodie had a 25% sale so was about 55$ will this fact help my case at all? Can i get it lowered to a class C misdemeanor? What would my punishment look like? I am 19 and have a completely clean record.

Lowering the charge is up to the prosecutor. Your lawyer can always ask.
If you have a clean record, you can probably get deferred adjudication probation.
After successfully completing the probation, you may be able to get an order of nondisclosure to help clean up your record.
