Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
if someone gets charged with unlawful felon in possession of firearm and gets 4yrs is it true that they have to serve at least half of thier sentencing time?

No. Only aggravated or 3g offenses have to serve 1/2 to be eligible for parole. That said, the person is not likely to get first parole since they have obviously been to prison before.
