Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Check cashing fraud
An Insurance company issued a check to a homeowner, payable to HomeOwner and Contractor. Th homeowner cashed the check without my signature or knowledge. I have already purchased materials for the project and now homeowner says they decided to use someones elses services. I will also have to pay taxes on the project because the insurance company will send me a 10-99 for the amount of the work being done. Do I have any recourse against the HomeOwner or Banking institution for cashing the check unauthorized by me?
