check collection
If you cash a check made out to you from a business and the check bounces are you liable for repaying the money? How do obtain a court appointed attorney?

Re: check collection
You are liable, in a civil action, and have a cause of action against the person/business that gave you the check. If you are liable criminally, would require more facts. You get a court-appointed atty by filing an affidavit with the court establishing that you are too poor to hire a lawyer. Caveat, if you post bond, you will have a hard time convincing the court that you cannot afford a lawyer.
