Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Child molested 1990
I am a 21 year old woman from Texas and when I was a child, (2-4) I was molested by a stranger who broke into my house. I know that it happened between 1988-1990. The man was never caught but the police had fingerprints from my house. My question is, would I be able to have my local police station run a finger print check to see if maybe they are now on file unlike before? Maybe he has been arrested since then. If so, will I still be able to bring charges against him. I live in a small town, how long do they keep those investigations on file? I would really like to know who did this to me as a child.

Contact the original, investigating police department, and relay your questions, and ask them to re-run a check. There also may be DNA evidence that was not usable at the time, but is now.
