Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
class c misdemeanor
Was charged with felony injury to child. Ironically, I just graduated from college with a degree in education. My attorney got a call from the DA willing to drop to a class c misdemeanor with a punishment of just a fine because of my repuatation. No probation or deferred.
First, my attorney stated this a municipal court type offense, and sometimes will not show up on a background check, is this true?
Next, what will my record show if it does show on a background check?
Lastly, my attorney stated that he will ask if the arrest record and charge for injury to child be expunged, but that the courts we are dealing with is a little resistant to that. If they don't do that, can't I still get it expunged but would just have to pay for it?

Re: class c misdemeanor
First of all, you have an attorney, so a lawyer on this site cannot ethically advise you.
Secondly, your description indicates that your attorney has served you exceptionally well, and has given you outstanding advice and service. You are paying this person for representation; when you do that you need to trust them, or get a new lawyer. Good luck.
